The Pain of Living: Jean Eustache, Being Cinema

From 10-24 July, the Melbourne Cinémathèque and ACMI will bring a pivotal French New Wave writer/director's work out of obscurity, presenting a complete retrospective of Jean Eustache's released work for cinema.

The seasons opens with the early featurette 'Du côté de Robinson' (1964) and the epic 'The Mother and the Whore' (1973), considered by critic Jean-Michel Frodon as “one of the most beautiful French films ever made".
