Alliance Française Melbourne will be closed for the holidays from 19 December to 8 January (inclusive) 🎄

The Department of Education (DE) and the Association of French Teachers in Victoria (AFTV) offer subsidies (subject to availability) for French teachers and students who wish to attend Alliance Française Immersion Days. Please see below for how to apply.

High School Students

Government Schools - DE offers a 100% subsidy for high school students enrolled in government schools in Victoria and who are interested in attending any of our French Immersion Days for teenagers. These Immersion Days take place throughout the year and are detailed on our website here. 

How to apply:

• Please download and complete the form via this link – DE Subsidy Request Form
• Return the form by email to our Education Coordinator: educationcoordinator@afmelbourne.com.au and samantha.norman@afmelbourne.com.au.
• If you are applying for a DE subsidy, please do not enrol in the course via our website or Customer Service Team. Once your application has been processed you will be automatically enrolled into the immersion day.
• You will receive a receipt from our Customer Service Team. This is also your booking confirmation for the immersion day.
• Additional information for students about the immersion day will be emailed up to two days before the course takes place.

Independent /Catholic schools - AFTV offers scholarships for high-school students at independent and Catholic schools to participate in Alliance Française immersion days for teenagers. Your school must be a current AFTV member.

How to apply:

• Enrol in your chosen immersion day online via our course selector or by calling our Customer Service Team (9525 3463). Please note that payment is taken on registration to confirm your booking.
• Download the AFTV scholarship application form via this link – AFTV Scholarships
• Ask your teacher at school to complete the AFTV Member section on your behalf.
• Submit your application directly to AFTV. Please note that AFM does not manage AFTV scholarships.
• If your application is successful, you will be reimbursed the course fee.
• Additional information for students about the immersion day will be emailed up to two days before the course takes place.

 

French teachers

The DE offers a 100% subsidy for French teachers working at government schools in Victoria who are interested in attending any of our French Immersion Days for professional development. Our Immersion Days take place during the school holiday period and are detailed in our course selector. To apply for the subsidy, please send an email to educationcoordinator@afmelbourne.com.au detailing how you would benefit from the course.
