This December, the Alliance Française welcomes Judex Rose & The New Impromptu Quartet for the last concert of the year!
Judex Rose is a Mauritian music composer and multi-instrumentalist based in Melbourne. His sound is influenced by his island heritage:
merging jazz harmonies with a blend of African and Indian rhythms. The son of a musician, he grew up surrounded by jazz and has since carved
his own style within the genre, sitting somewhere between sega, jazz, reggae and dancehall. For the last Jazzy Jeudi of 2019 he will be
joined by our resident jazz band, The New Impromptu Quartet, in what will be an exciting night of music from l’Île Maurice!
