Bergerac restaurant is an authentic French restaurant in the CBD operating under the same Chef owner since 1985. Bergerac is also a charming provincial town on the banks of the Dordogne River in the Perigord region, 90 km east of Bordeaux. It is also the birth place of two very important persons: Cyrano de Bergerac and Chef owner Jean-François Enconniere.

On Friday 1st August, the Alliance Francaise de Melbourne gives you the opportunity to discover this fine French restaurant. Improve your spoken French while savouring a delicious French-style menu, highlighting some of the best classics of French cuisine. For $65, come and enjoy a three-course menu along with lively conversation with other Francophiles and one of our French teachers.

1 Entree to choose from the following:

Soupe a l'oignon
(French onion soup with cheese croutons)

Salade nicoise
(Fresh Yellow-Fin Tuna, Tomatoes, Beans, Egg, Potato, Olives & Anchovies, Tossed in a Herb & Olive-Oil Dressing)
or
Terrine de canard
(home-made duck terrine with chutney, cornichons & toasted Baguette)

1 Main to choose from the following:

Steak aux deux poivres
(Prime Eye-Fillet crusted with Black Pepper, on a bed of Roasted Root Vegetables and a Green Peppercorn & Brandy Sauce)
or
Coq au vin
(Chicken thighs in red wine ,mushroom and lardons, served in ramequin)
or
Barramundi fillet salsa verde

1 Dessert to choose from the following:

Creme brulee
(Flavoured with Vanilla Bean and Served with Berry Compote)
or
Tarte au chocolat
(Rich Ganache Tart with Black Cherries Marinated in Kirsch)

Crepe aux pommes
(Warm Crêpes filled with an Apple & Calvados Compote and Served with Caramel Sauce)
