Since her beginnings down under in 2013, Aurélie, a Parisian woman living in Melbourne, has been answering a
lot of questions. Why did you move to Australia? Do you like it here? Are you here forever? How did you integrate into the country, the
local culture and community? Equally Aurélie has always been interested in hearing the stories of fellow French who found their place,
their mission or their purpose far away from their homeland. Did they have a dream when they moved to Australia? Or did their aspirations
develop with their new life here? How did they make “it” happen? From all these inspiring
conversations, the idea of the podcast was born.
In each episode, a guest shares what it means to undertake a project out of their comfort zone, the cultural
differences they face and how being French in Australia is a bonus, or sometimes a challenge, in their endeavours.
This podcast invites you to follow personal journeys into different fields: entrepreneurship, personal
development, family, relationships, or career to name only a few.
The achievement of something positive, this is what success stories mean in You are so French! and what is
being discussed with passion, honesty and of course a bit of an accent!
In the episode #9 of You are so French! Carole Sarasa is sharing her Australian story. Carole is a Board
Member of l’Alliance Française in Melbourne and is passionate about politics and culture. She explains her role in the
organisation and the importance of cultural diversity in her life. Carole also speaks about her experience working for an Aboriginal
Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) and explains how this chapter in her career changed her deeply and gave a new meaning to her
life as a white immigrant in Australia. This is a special episode addressing an important yet sensitive topic. Through her story of a
French Australian woman, Carole invites everyone to better know and understand the History and current reality of Australia’s
First Nations.
