French film fans, rejoice! This year, the Alliance Française French Film Festival is marking its 35th edition – a milestone that's not just about numbers but about celebrating the rich legacy of French cinema and cultural exchange. From its humble beginnings in 1989, the festival has evolved from what started as a cozy cultural event into the largest French film festival outside of France, captivating audiences with its diverse lineup of fascinating films.
In 2024, the AFFFF is bringing a stacked 41-movie program to Australian cinemas, with many César-winning films (All your Faces, The Animal Kingdom, The Nature of Love) and some of France’s most famous actors.
And what better way to celebrate this milestone than by revisiting one of the festival's most beloved films, "The Intouchables"? This French
film, voted as a favorite by our audience, tells the heartwarming story of an extraordinary friendship between a wealthy paraplegic and
his caregiver, and has become a timeless classic. (It was so good that it even inspired an American remake – “The Upside”!)
Join us for a special screening of “The Intouchables” on Tuesday the 26th March at selected Palace Cinemas (Penny Lane or Como) – secure your tickets now!
